About Founder

Mr. Hossein Shenasi

Hossein Shenasi began weaving carpets at the age of 12 in his hometown of Tabriz, Iran, where he worked for his uncle before learning the family business. Later, in the famous Momtaz Carpet Store in the Tehran Bazaar, he spent over 60 years managing the sale, cleaning, and repair of hand-knotted carpets.

Mr. Hossein Shenasi learned all aspects of carpet restoration, whether weaving damaged areas, color run removal, stretching out of shaped carpets, binding, or fringing. He then decided to immigrate to Canada in the late 1970s to pursue what he had learned over the years.

It needed to be cleaned, a corner repaired and an edge sewn to tighten it and minimize tassel fraying.  The staff seemed very knowledgeable and took the time to explain the cleaning and repair process that was needed.  Their explanation gave us the confidence in their expertise.  They provided us with a very reasonable quotation and an estimate for its completion. Right on time, we received a call stated that the work was completed.  The rug was picked up the next day.  The work was completed as promised and for the price as quoted.  We are totally satisfied with the work done and we are proud of the rug, a beautiful reminder of a great vacation.
